Clean water and a healthy environment are part of the foundation for everyday well-being.

What we work toward

  • Support sanitation that meets the needs of women, girls and people with disabilities.
  • Promote green spaces that are accessible to the public.
  • Encourage waste management, community cleanups and sustainable land management.
Historical program record

From the program record

The Village Wells Project began in 2016. BO Foundation’s Water and Environment Program reports four wells built in communities in Burkina Faso by the time of the historical program record.

Clean Up Burkina launched in 2021, bringing volunteers together for street cleanups in Ouagadougou and Kaya. The program record describes around 200 volunteers at the first Ouagadougou event and more than 500 at the Kaya event, followed by the formation of nine community organizations.
