Diaspora & citizen diplomacy

Diaspora & citizen diplomacy

Connection begins with people: sharing knowledge, safeguarding heritage and building relationships across borders.

What we work toward

  • Encourage cultural and intellectual exchange among African communities and the diaspora.
  • Promote awareness of African cultures, products and creative expression.
  • Support the safeguarding of cultural and natural heritage.
  • Develop meaningful relationships that connect philanthropy, knowledge and local opportunity.
Historical program record

From the program record

The Diaspora and Citizen Diplomacy Program describes welcoming dozens of members of the diaspora to West Africa since 2019, bringing philanthropy, investment and ideas.

Its program vision includes cultural events, exchange between elders and intellectuals, and the promotion of Burkinabè heritage and products. The historical document presents these initiatives as proposals, rather than completed projects.
