Entrepreneurship & innovation

Entrepreneurship & innovation

Economic opportunity grows when people can develop useful skills, reach markets and shape their own livelihoods.

What we work toward

  • Expand employment and enterprise opportunities for women and young adults.
  • Improve access to training, financial services, markets and knowledge.
  • Support agricultural productivity and sustainable livelihoods.
  • Encourage the development of locally owned small and medium enterprises.
Historical program record

From the program record

BO Foundation’s program document describes its sponsorship of the West African Entrepreneurship and Innovation Foundation. Through that relationship, it reports support for the careers of more than 1,500 young Africans through vocational training and entrepreneurship education.

The document identifies women’s vocational training and employment as a priority, including for people affected by displacement. Areas of interest include agriculture, recycling, clothing and textiles, biomedical engineering and landscaping. These describe program priorities rather than a current project roster.
